UK Visa for Philippine Passport Holders

UK Visa for Philippine Passport Holders

It was a week ago that I revealed my RTW plans and the beginning of my quest for visas.  Every Filipino who have experienced applying visas to Japan, US and Europe (Schengen, UK) can relate to this agony.  I went through both before but it doesn’t get easier. Since I’m going through the whole process again, I thought I’d make an outline to give future Filipino applicants a starting point. Digging through pages and pages of requirements can truly cause nausea, no kidding. So here you go, a blow by blow account on how to apply for UK Visa for Philippine Passport Holders.

The United Kingdom (UK) is composed of the following 4 countries: England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales.  As a Filipino passport holder, let it be a default to assume we needed visa to travel anywhere outside Southeast Asia. UK is no exception. There are several visa types but I’ll be focusing on Tourist Visa.  UK visa is applied through official partner VFS Global.

My focus will only be the application of UK Visa For Philippine Passport holders applying for TOURIST VISA. If you’re studying, working, marrying, or visiting family, I’m sure there’s a whole other bunch of stuff you need to prepare. I can’t help you with it, sorry.

Restrictions in visiting UK as a tourist:

  1. Visit to UK cannot be for more than six (6) months;
  2. Leave the UK at the end of your visit;
  3. Have enough money to support yourself during your stay in the UK without working or needing help from public funds.
  4. Will not take paid or unpaid employment.
  5. Will not marry or register a civil partnership, or give notice of marriage or civil partnership.
  6. Will not get private medical treatment.

When to Apply for UK Visa?

As with most countries, UK visa can be applied maximum of 3 months before intended entry.

Where to Apply for UK Visa?

There are 2 parts in UK Visa Application: (1) Online Application  (2) Appointment to submit biometric and supporting documents.

You’ll need to have in hand your passport, UK address (hotel booking or friend’s address), email address and begin your  online visa application.  You’ll need to go through the following:

  • register for an account
  • fill in the application form in English
  • pay for the visa fee online (in most cases)
  • print out your form
  • book and attend an appointment at a visa application centre

You also need to:

  • have all the supporting documents you need for your visa
  • translate any supporting documents and include them with the originals if they aren’t in English

What to bring to the Appointment?

  • A printed and signed copy of your online visa application form
  • Your current valid passport  Note: The UK Border Agency will retain your passport until they have reached a decision on your visa application. Bear in mind if you have travel plans before going to UK.
  • Previous passports
  • Original supporting documents, with photocopies and translations
  • Printed copy of the supporting document checklist
  • Payment or proof of payment of visa application fee.
  • 1 recent photograph (not more than 6 months old) according to below specification.

Photograph Strict Specification

  • Taken against a light grey or cream background;
  • Clear and of good quality;
  • Printed on normal photographic paper;
  • 45 mm high x 35 mm wide in size
  • Taken with nothing covering the face, without sunglasses or tinted spectacles, or a head covering unless worn for religious or medical reasons. The subject should have their mouth closed (no grinning, frowning or raised eyebrows) and the applicant should be facing forwarding, looking straight ahead.

What are supporting documents?

Simply put, these are documents that show evidence that you have ties in the Philippines and that you are coming back–job, family ties, properties, etc.

Also documents that shows you are capable of supporting yourself while in UK without the need to find employment–Bank statements, certificates, employment payslip, credit cards, etc.

You also need to submit details of accommodation plans and trip itinerary. However, please don’t pay for your accommodation until visa is issued.

All these should be submitted during the appointment. No further documents will be accepted after. Now, while the absence of these documents may result in unsuccessful visa application, submission does not guarantee visa issuance. More info on UK Visa Supporting Document

If you’re not paying for your own way, or have friend(s) in UK who will support you, you should present them with the following documents:

  • Valid Citizen/Residence ID or Passport
  • Bank Statement
  • Address and contact details
  • Invitation letter stating their support

How much is UK Visa for Philippine Passport Holders? Where to pay for UK Visa? (Updated 2-Sept-2014)

Tourist Visa {short term up to 6 months} costs £83 to apply.

Since December 17, 2012, visa fee can only be made online. It will form as part of the online application process. When all items are filled up, you will be directed to the website of WorldPay where you have the choice to pay with Visa or Mastercard.  They no longer accept payment in person like I did before.

Waiting for Result

If there are no further delays (lacking or unverifiable document), you should have result in approximately 4-5 working days. Track your application through the free Application Status Tool.  You can collect documents personally or have the option to have it delivered to your home by paying Php 450. You also get an SMS saying it’s on its way.

Update: So lesson learned, if you are planning to visit in summer, you have to apply earlier. March and April is really hectic. I received mine in 15 days. This is also because of the Royal Wedding coming up on April 29, 2011.

UK Visa for Filipino Passport Holders kicks off the Visa for Pinoy Series I’m starting in this blog. Here’s hoping it will be a good starting point in your application. I had to go through labyrinth of information to get here.  I don’t have my visa yet but I’ll update often!  Now, moving on to a totally unrelated topic, this is my 100th post! :)

NOTES & UPDATE: I just came back from a very easy application submission. My schedule was for 9:40am and I was there 9:30am as the website suggested.  You have to reschedule if you’re more than 20 minutes late. Total wait time is about 2 hours but once my number is called, it took less than 5 minutes for them to check my documents and then another 5 minutes for them to take my biometric data.

Like I said I was there for 2 hours with about 80 people ahead of me. I saw a lot of people being sent back and forth to rearrange their document, or having to fill up more forms, or worse, being asked to come back. Here are few notes to guarantee you out in a jiffy!

  1. No need to submit photocopy your application form and passports. They’ll ask you to take it out. Save trees too!
  2. Paste the photo on to the application form. Not stapled, not taped, but pasted.
  3. Print copy of the supporting document checklist and check (tick) those supporting document that you’re submitting.  Some people didn’t, so they have to fill this up when there.
  4. Arrange document in the order presented on the checklist.
  5. Bring original supporting documents and have a photocopy of them.  I don’t know how many people had to go out and have their document photocopied. Note that you will leave with them ALL your original document (land title, lease document, business registration, bank statements, financial statement, etc.) to be returned with your visa.
  6. You can only go in with your documents placed in an envelope. Bags and phones will have to be left at their package counter (at the guard).  So much more consideration than the US Embassy.

Hello! I already got my visa thanks to your blog post. Now I just need to know where to get the GBP best.

    • Ai 11/21/2015 at 4:54 pm #

Yayy! Congrats babe. I normally go to a bank and just buy there. No hassle but at least I’ll get it within the day. Rate might be a weeny bit expensive compared to FX outside but really no difference at all. ☺️

      • Peps 11/22/2015 at 3:11 pm #

        Hello Ai,

I have a visit visa for 6 months…now what I need to know is, apart from the passport, visa, ticket and boarding pass, what other documents do our Philippine Immigration asks when you go through the passport control.

        • Ai 11/23/2015 at 3:40 pm #

          Hi Peps,
You’re all good. Our Phils IO don’t ask much really. UK IO would definitely need ask some documents/proofs when you get to UK. Just make sure you got them with you just incase they ask (normally for first time UK travellers).
          Have fun!

Hi, your blog is very helpful.. I’m just wondering whether you could advise me. I lived in UK with my EU husband. I want to invite my sister to come over to UK however all my documents are with the immigrations as I am processing my residence card. Would it be possible if my husband will sponsor my sister? Does my husband needs to send all his original documents like his passport or EU card in the Philippines? and would it be possible if I can process my sisters visa on line so I can make a payment on behalf of her? Thank you in advance.

    • Ai 11/21/2015 at 5:03 pm #

It think he can sponsor your sister. No need to send his original pp or IDs. letter of invitation and photocopies of his pp, IDs and supporting docs would be totally fine.
You need to go to UK visa online website and register. Your husband can actually apply the visa on behalf of her if that’s easier for you. Hope that helps!😊
Am on IG as latexcorsetph if you want to get hold of me. :)
      Best of luck! X

thanks wanderlass for this reliable info…was able to get multiple entry visa for 6 months because of you….lodged the application online 10/2, submitted the docs 10/6, got the passport with visa and supporting docs 10/20 afternoon and I flew to heathrow 10/23 and stayed there till 11/9….been stressed though bout the fin docs coz I was not financially capable, however my bf was able to produce business registrations, fin docs and invitation….thanks and more power….do you have Austria visa application too?

    • OxfordLass 11/16/2015 at 2:19 am #

Hi, cay1130! I will also be sponsored by my boyfriend. My question is, what evidences did you submit to prove that you and your boyfriend are in a relationship? (photos together? emails?) How long was your application processed? Hope I can get a reply asap because we are planning to submit the documents next week! Thank you and more power!

      • cay1130 11/16/2015 at 3:42 pm #

hi, no need to disclose it, his letter only said I am his friend and that we’ve met months ago….in the immigration thou they will ask you what your relation to the sponsoring person and there you should be honest….they wont ask you for pics or email details or message or conversations as far as I experienced. processing is more or less 15 days, during the submission you will be asked if you would want to fasten (priority) both during the submission online and in VFS….the only thing they were concerned, as my boyfriend said, is that I don’t have intention to live / settle there if I am getting a tourist visa….no sweat actually….just submit the documents arranged as listed….wanderlass has been detailed about it….there is not even an interview….idk about the 2nd visa thou, we’ll see…any ideas @wanderlass?

    • Ai 11/21/2015 at 5:08 pm #

Hiya! Austria is part of Schengen. I guess any of those Europe cities that Wanderlass has posted before would be a great help!
Haven’t tried myself but yes would like to know as well.😍 Have you done some research yet?
Love to go to Italy and Paris!

  4. josephhayes457patrick58 11/11/2015 at 6:09 am #

on what day does my visa start when i arrive in phillipines is it day of arrival or the next day thank you patrick

    • Ai 11/21/2015 at 5:14 pm #

      Hey Patrick,
Did you get some answers yet?
Totally be honest with you, I didn’t know as well!😳 Would be nice to know from our fellow travellers if they know this.

I Was in UK last year and earlier this year bearing a 6month multiple visa. On my 2nd trip, I just left UK 2days before my visa expires.

In other countries like UAE, they give you a tourist visa (1-3month) and they start counting after you get in to UAE. So totally basing it from your date of entry.
Not sure if UK is the same? Prolly not?
      Anyone know about this?

    • Ai 11/21/2015 at 5:17 pm #

Okay am totally stupid. Thought you were asking about uK visa. Lol. My fault.
But to answer your question, day of arrival. They give you now 30days. And you can extend it for couple of months if you want to. Just go to nearest Bureau of Immigration, one in Makati and in Intramuros. Hope that helps.😊

My boyfriend is Filipino with Spanish citizenship living in the UK and he’s sponsoring me for a general visit visa. The UK visa site says every single document I provide must be original. Does that include my boyfriend’s passport? I don’t think he has a residence ID din since Spain is part of the EU and I heard they have special privileges in England. When I asked him about it, he wasn’t sure din if he has one. Haha! Anyway, he’s in England now. Is it safe to say that I can’t apply for a visa unless he comes home here sa Pinas?

Hope to hear from you soon.

    • rege rafael 11/08/2015 at 12:25 am #

Hi Gaiana! I have the same case as yours, my bf (filipino) who’s in London will be sponsoring my trip, I just provided them a printed copy of my bf’s visa and passport.

Good day ma’am! I am college student, and my parents will be going to UK for business purposes at the end of October. Sembreak is coming, and my mom wants me to visit UK as my break for two-three weeks. I have concerns regarding applying for UK visa and traveling to UK. I would like to know if the documents that you stated are also required for under-ages (I’m 17 years old), like the bank statement (since my parents will be sponsoring me) or is the certification of enrollment be necessary? And what are the specific supporting documents? Will there be an interview during the appointment or just submitting of documents? Is it approved if they take your application and biometric? What is the minimum week/s or month/s for visiting UK? What are the possible questions to be asked in the interview and in the airport? And what kind of visa should I apply for? I’m thinking the standard visa for tourists, but I’m not sure. I’m also currently registering the online application form, what is the primary phone number and the secondary phone number? Sorry for asking too many questions. :)

My sembreak would be starting at November 13, and my parents keeps pushing me to book an appointment because they said the process of approving the visa might take long. And it’s almost the end of October, is it too late to book an apoointment? :)

I hope you can read this, and reply. :) Thank you in advance for your help. :)

    • Pauline 10/22/2015 at 7:38 pm #

*Supporting documents for students or under-age? Or same documents for standard visa? Tourist visa?

minors should be attached to parent’s or guardian’s application.

    • wanderlass 10/28/2015 at 10:55 am #

      you should start applying.

  11. Ana Leviste 10/22/2015 at 7:22 am #

    HI wanderlass,

I have not completed my online application yet because I still have to know some other things before i proceed, If i present bank statement, will it matter if peso or dollar account? If I plan to visit London, how much money should they expect in my account? My british bf will shoulder everything, my accommodations and ticket. Would i still present my bank statement or his bank statement? What would be the important information should he put in his invitation letter and will they honor it if just sent using email and not using post office.

Hi, can you please provide the email address or phone number of VFS for uk. I paid for my documents to be delivered to my house through their courier service but until now I havent received it yet. They sent me a message saying that they got the docs from uk embassy on 15th October and that’s it. They haven’t updated me about it since then. I can’t seem to find any phone number nor an email address for VFS-uk. I woild appreciate it if anyone can provide me an email address wherein an actual person from vfs would respond.

    • Ai 10/21/2015 at 10:28 am #

      Hi John,
I believe Express application takes a week. But you can only apply for it if you have travelled to Europe before, otherwise, you stick to regular processing which takes normally 12-15days or longer.

    • Ai 10/17/2015 at 11:30 am #

      Hi John,

Airline tickets is not necessary yet at this point. Arrange it when you already have a visa. But if you have one already, dates of your intended flight should remain the same. Two different dates won’t make any sense at all.

      • john 10/17/2015 at 11:34 am #

        hi miss ai
        its just for the reservation
its not yet confirmed that its my real flight .

    Ms, Ai

I have a British bf who wants me to visit UK. I am jobless. no business, no properties but was an ofw for 17 years in Palau and visited the USA twice in 2011 and just came back recently from USA. My bf will pay for everything. Do u think i can get a visa? if my bf can apply a visa in my behalf, do i have better chances?

    • Irine 10/16/2015 at 6:31 pm #

      Hi Ana,

      Apologies for the delay.

Applying for a UK visa is always a 50-50 chance.

A good travel history is a plus but it all depends to the documents you are submitting to UK Consulate. If you or your boyfriend have all the required documents then all you can do is hope everything turns out positive and hopefully you’ll be granted a visa. :)

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you. You can also get hold of me on instagram: @latexcorsetph

            Hi Ms. Ai,

Just want to know if I can able to join my wife in UK directly from Middle East. I’m currently working here in Middle East (Saudi Arabia) as an OFW but I want to know if I’d rather submit my application here in Middle East or better in the Philippines!

Hope you can help me :)

          • Ai 10/15/2015 at 1:14 pm #

If you have a residence visa then you can apply your UK visa from the KSA consulate. Hope that helps. :)

          • ahrsman 10/15/2015 at 8:43 pm #

            Ms. Ai,

Yup, I have residence visa here since I’ve been working here as an OFW but I’m not sure if they would entertain me since i’m not a Saudi citizen…

Do you think Ms. Ai they would allow me to apply here in KSA? If so, should I apply here or better to submit my application in Philippines.?
Which of the two country is the best to submit application KSA or Philippines?
I’m really sorry but I got confused. :(

          • Ai 10/15/2015 at 10:16 pm #

Hi. Yes you can apply from where you are since you are a resident and have proper documentation. You don’t need to be a Saudi citizen, don’t worry. ;) UK consulate in Philippines takes 12-15days to get the results. Don’t know how long it takes in KSA. Better to check with them. hope that helps. Hi Carla .I felt the same way. was nervous to apply again but successfully granted.
          His payslip
          Council tax bill
Invitation letter stated hes support me while I’m in the uk
          Pics together
My dad’s medical abstract as I’m his carer
          My bank statement .
As long as you did not breach any contract while you’re in the UK .
My purpose is to visit him and his family .can’t stay longer in UK as my family needs me here.
They will know if you telling the truth as they do investigate as far as I know.just tell the truth. No lies .my opinion you have chance to be granted again.so why don’t you apply again.
          Good luck !

You need to bring all the original docs as they will give it back to you when u get your visa or not

    • Delkhaye 09/28/2015 at 10:25 pm #

I think a copy will do,submitted scanned documents .he sent to my email . second time granted multiple visa never submit original except my bank statement.then when I received my envelope .they only returned our pics and passport .my opinion it depends how you convince them your true intention ,and you goin back.

Hi Ms Ai, I am a Filipina leaving in the UK, My husband and I would like my sister and her 3 boys (9,12 & 14 yrs old) for a short holiday. And would like them to visit us in the UK during the school summer holidays in the Philippines. We will pay all their travel expenses, visa fees etc… and they will be staying with me.
    My question are:-
    1. Supporting documents – Is it possible to just provide photocopy ( scanned and email it )

I will provide:- Invitation Letter, British Passports, 6mths Bank/payslips statement, Utility Bills, Property ownership.

    2. Can she submit the application including her 3 boys in one envelope. Since I will be providing the same supporting documents.

    3. Can my sister book an appointment herself and just bring her 3 boys as they are underage.

Thank you and hope you can answer my queries!

    • Ai 09/17/2015 at 3:07 pm #

      1) Prints off/scanned copies from email are fine.
      2) Yes. Admin folks will remove the documents from the envelope anyway when they’re called plus Consulate are into green. Less paper, the better😉
There should be a question somewhere on the application where they ask if she’s travelling alone or with company. Supporting documents should then cover everybody.
      3) Yes ask her to book their appointment and bring the boys when submitting the docs for biometrics.

      Hope that helps. X

    Hi Everyone,

Im planning to apply a UK visa soon probably this November. My boyfriend will sponsor me and I have requested him to prepare an invitation letter, copy of his passports, land title, owenership of his flat, p60,payslips and bank statements. I my self also have prepared all documents i need my COE , my business permitm mayor’s permit , ITR, bank certificate and bank statements.

    Here are my questions:

    1. Is it okay if all documents coming from him are scanned and sent to email?

    2. Does he need to provide the Sponsorship undertaking: form SU07? and who is going to sign the second page of it which states:
Signed by__________________being a person authorized to
make this certificate on behalf of the Secretary of State.

    3. My contract ends this year (december) so i will be unemployed but I still have a business which is apartment for rent I have the Business permit, DTI certificate and Mayor’s permit but land title is named for my mother. Do you think this will suffice?

    4. I will be indicating that I will be staying with my boyfriend for 3 months, do you think I will be granted? Knowing that i will be employed? I have sufficient savings tho on my bank accounts.

    5. Would it be possible if i indicate on application I will just be staying for 1 month but in reality I will be staying for 3 or 4 months? how’s that possible? Do you think I will have trouble with immigration and for my next application of visa?

    6. Do you think I will be granted UK visa? I will be sponsored but I will be out of job soon.

Hope you can answer my queries :)

    • Ai 08/24/2015 at 4:30 pm #

      Hi Maison,
      Answers below.
      1) yes, totally fine.
      2) No need. A simple letter of invitation is enough.
      3) 6 months payslip, Certificate of Employment and your business permit are really helpful.
      4) I suggest you make it shorter. 4-6weeks maybe.
      5) You will be ask for sure by the Immigration why the sudden changed (1month to 3months) but just say, you have changed your mind and anyway, you are granted 6months visa.
      6) Make sure you have a strong ties in Phils (properties, families, business’s to go back to). Pretty sure you will be granted a visa.
      Hope that helps.

No.5 question wether you stay 1 month or 3 months you need to buy returned ticket back to philippines.. if you book ticket single trip to UK they might hold you and question you in immigration entry clearance in the UK..

      • Kay 08/30/2015 at 12:50 am #

Hi, Ms Ai! I just want to ask some questions. I’m planning on applying for a tourist visa so I can scout for schools in the UK but at the same time visit my bestfriend who lives there. My best friend is a permanent resident and she would shoulder everything once I get there. I’m 22 years old and I don’t have a job ‘cos I’m still studying, I’m a bit worried about the part where I have to provide a bank statement, My family recently moved back to Philippines from Singapore and we don’t have any bank savings or properties under our name. I’m just wondering if bank statements from my friend (who will sponsor my whole stay) would be a good alternative if I don’t have one? I grew up in Brunei (Stayed there for 10 years) and I’ve been to different countries in Asia but it’s the first time I’m applying for something a bit far. Haha. Help? I don’t know where to start. I just really want this to work because I want to pursue my studies there.

        • Ai 09/12/2015 at 3:29 pm #

Hi, your own bank statements are one of the requirements. How about a bank statement from where you were? They would need the last 6 months statements. You got to make sure you have utility bills under your name as well. You can always provide your friends/sponsor statements but frankly to say, it won’t be enough.

      • Jhen 09/09/2015 at 3:41 pm #

        Hi Ai,

My visa application was refused last month. The ECO’s reason for refusing my visa was

“…You state that you will be paying costs of trip yourself (this means that I will be paying for the Air fare) and have submitted a bank statement in you name. However this does not evidence your salary or stated income and I am not satisfied that your are employed or receiving income as claimed.

I light of the above I am not satisfied that your circumstances are as you have indicated, nor on your intentions in wishing to travel to the United Kingdom now. I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a limited period as stated by you, not exceeding 6 months, or that you intend to leave the United Kingdom at the end of the period of your proposed visit.”

I’m quite confused because I will be supported by my aunt in the UK. I submitted a copy of her passport, invitation letter, bank statements, and her certificate of naturalisation.

On my part I submitted my COE, payslips, and bank statement.

One of the main reason why my application was refused is that my employer did not mention on the COE that I am allowed a paid/unpaid leave (my bad). Also, My contract will end on December so I will be unemployed but I believe that I have sufficient amount in my bank account.

What confuses me the most is that I stated my Aunt will supporting me (food, accommodations and all) and I have submitted the necessary documents on my part (COE, payslips and bank statement) but still the ECO states “You state that you will be paying costs of trip yourself and have submitted a bank statement in you name. However this does not evidence your salary or stated income and I am not satisfied that your are employed or receiving income as claimed.” I was like “huh??” What proofs do I need to send to convince them that I am employed and receiving income if my payslips and COE is not enough?

I also want to ask what documents do I need to submit to prove that I have strong ties here in the Philippines and that I will be coming back on the specified time. I’m really confused right now, and really sad because all I want to do is to celebrate my birthday on the Warner Bros Studios in London coz I’m a big HARRY POTTER FAN.

Hope you can help me on this matter. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

        • Ai 09/12/2015 at 3:39 pm #

Hi Jhen, sorry to hear that. You can always make an appeal. Maybe they just overlooked the documents you have submitted to them? But I think it’s a long process for making an appeal. Might be better to just reapply again? Costly I know. Not sure about this really. Sorry.
Strong ties can be, properties under your name, business, work waiting for you and etc.
          hope it helps.

            Hi Sel,

Yes, I plan to re apply maybe next year. how about you?

May I ask what’s the ECO’s reason for the refusal?

        • MBC 11/18/2015 at 12:35 am #

I think the ECO noticed some discrepancies in your bank account versus your payslips.

I am a little bit confuse because my passport is so complicated.. I am still using my previous husband surename which is im legally divorce with him.. I have a divorce letter as a proft. But the problem is in my passport im still using his surename not my present husband surname..
Im a little bit worried.. Please advice

        Thank u

        • Ai 09/20/2015 at 12:58 pm #

          Hi Olive,
It might be just easier to get your family name change to your present husband for less confusion. Otherwise you have to explain everything and that doesn’t make sense at all.
I bet you can get it change within 15days or maximum a month.

Hi Ms Ai ( wanderlass) just been to UK last month for 26 days and flew back to Manila with my b.f. .unemployed for almost 3 years .I have bank account ( money in and out).hes supporting me financially.my British b.f of 4 years sponsored me to meet his family .luckily got multiple visa for 6 months ,this is my 1st application.my visa will expired on October .we are planning to me to go back to UK on October to spend Christmas with his family and be back on Dec .30 and flying back with my b.f to spend new year with my family .I’m nervous to apply for second time if I’ll granted again .what is my chance to get visa again ?as I’m worried bout what the IO in UK wrote in the landing card will reflect my application as he tried to stop me entering to UK .he asked lots of questions not satisfied so he pulled me out in the queue and so he asked me to sit down in one corner .he went to his office with my passport with him( I.O office) then he came back and handed me my passport and he said I can go .so relief.i can tell on his face that he don’t want me in the UK .dunno what he did in that room, anyway than God that i did bring the supporting documents I passed on the vfa.what is my chances to be granted again?

    • Ai 08/17/2015 at 2:25 pm #

I suggest you take a chance again!

You already had a good record when you stayed there for a month. Did your visa run out already?

I had 6 months visa and I visited UK twice. The second time I went back there, the Officer only asked me one question, “what are you here for?” Replied back, “Tourist”. A min after, I’m out of her sight. :) Quite nice to be able to get away with no other questions unlike my first entry (where I was ask too many questions but I think it’s very normal for IO to ask loads of questions when you haven’t been to UK before)
      Best of luck!

Hi anyone could please help me

I am ging to UK and will be paying for everthing (except accommodation) I do have sufficient bank account, but I will be staying in my friends place. If i declare i will be staying in my friends place do i still need to show his bank account? or just letter of invite from my friend that I will be staying in his place?

I appreciate any reply thank you

    • Analyn 07/28/2015 at 12:52 pm #

I guess it would be better to provide also all requirements just to be sure.Letter of invite, bank statement, payslip, copy of passport, our pics together, our conversation,p60,tenancy agreement or ownership of the house.that’s what I passed for my sponsor that provide accommodation for me.but for more simple just book hotel and u can cancel it anytime.

If your bf is sponsoring your trip, then he must send all the required documents, most important is his bank statement and py slip, his invitation letter should also say that his covering your stay in the uk.. No reason to refuse you if you do it properly..

Hello, could you comment on this one please.. I’m applying a visit visa for the UK..I wasn’t the one who made my profile for the Visa4UK online application – my friend mistyped the month of my birthday for the appointment confirmation. Would it have a bearing on my application even if the details in the proper application are correct?

    Hello everyone!

I submitted my application and supporting documents this morning at the visa application center in Makati. I applied for a business visitor visa, so I would like to hear from anyone who applied for the same type of visa.

What supporting documents did you submit?

    Thanks :)

After visiting London last December 2014, thought of coming back to England 2 weeks before my 6 mos visa expires, I’ve decided a 3 nights visit to Scotland, and I must say it’s a wise decision! The Scot offers different taste of Celtic and Gaelic tourism – polite locals, enchanting castles, amazing landscape of snow capped mountains, forests, lakes and green valleys too! So for those who already have a UK visa after visiting England… never miss a train to Scotland! – Edinburgh, Glasgow and the highlands highly recommended, worth visiting!!!

    • Analyn 07/10/2015 at 3:19 pm #

Hello I have my interview on July 17 really so anxious for that coming date. Iam sponsored by a friend who is Scottish that I met in the Phils.Do u think I have a strong possibilities to get approve, even he has no big amount on money on acct.but has continuous money going in and out.thanks for the response.

  47. ata 05/27/2015 at 2:08 pm #

To those who’s been thru the UK visa application process, just one basic question. Sorry if this was already answered, my connection is quite spotty kasi.. Will there be an interview during the appointment or is it just submission of docs? Thank you!

    • benditta 06/04/2015 at 5:43 pm #

They will just asked you your full name, bday and where in england you are going to stay. And your relationship to your sponsor.
And they will take a photo of yours and biometrics and that’s it.

      • Apple 07/18/2015 at 8:33 pm #

Is it approved already if they take your application and biometric? Please reply

    • Ai 06/04/2015 at 5:51 pm #

No interview at all. You go to the consulate with your docs. They will call you and submit your docs to them. Then you will be called again for biometrics – inside biometrics room, You will be ask of who you are and where in UK you are going to stay/visiting with. Finish. Takes about 10mins. Results are ready between 12-15 working days.

Ai, thank you very much for the info, its really good news and helpful, but the sad things is he can’t provide bank statement, and he payed on hes wages as cash no tax and after house got repossessed they block my bank accounts and can’t get new one for 5 years that’s what he said, I really lose hope, police got he’s passport after hes house burned, :((( pls I ask you again if he’s brother can help us, he invite me too, and show he’s bank statement, but my bf will provide all my needs, and he gonna put money also on my account, pls hope u response again, thank u kipsafe and godbless, I just really wanna be with him, : (

        • Ai 06/04/2015 at 10:40 pm #

Try to be sponsored by his brother/family then. Don’t want to discouraged you but would’ve been better if you guys have met personally. When I was with Border control officer, I was asked when was the last time I saw my sponsor. Just get all the papers that the consulate required.

          • jhoy 06/04/2015 at 10:55 pm #

            Hello Ai,
I already lodged my documents last July 14, 2015 Im quite anxious for everyday waiting..I wish I can have more patience.lol. I applied for General Tourist Visa and sponsored by my friend who is a British Citizen. I guess i passed all needed requirements for this such case but im too worried with our Bank Statement that is low in balance, do u think it is enough that we have bank statement that has money going in and out and also every year he is coming to Philippines so I guess ECO will think he can really provide for me.I hope your comments in here and if everyone who has the same case as me.Thanks in advance and best regards..

          • Ai 07/23/2015 at 10:16 am #

            Hey Analyn!
You should hear from the consulate anytime soon then. Keep your heads up. I’m pretty sure you’ll be fine. Consulate officers are more interested of your bank acct, properties in Phils, your friend’s record. If you think you passed all that, there’s nothing to worry then. Just keep on praying!☺️

Hi. Tanong ko lang kung it is possible ba na iisa lang kaming documents ng tita ko? Sabay kasi kame nag apply last monday. And we have one sponsorship letter iisa lang kasi sponsor namin at pupuntahan at naka indicate na dun yung name ko.. Na bobother lang ako kasi i have a copy of sponsorship letter too. Thanks in advance.

hi thanks for your input. my husband is currently looking for info on how to process UK visa from UAE. he will be attending a class for a week there then to scotland after. Does Scotland require a different visa? So application is done only online? or do you know of any agency there (UK) that could process the visa for him? He has also an invitation. your help will be greatly appreciated. thanx so much in advance!

    • Jennifer Regencia 06/05/2015 at 12:54 pm #

During the appointment, you will only submit your documents and biometrics.

Hi wanderlass I would like to ask if I can apply multiple visa for more than 6months, say a year or two? Or do they grant it or they just stick with 6 months? The scenario is that I’d like to apply for a visa soon as I got my vacation from work, and I have only 49days vacation so I was thinking to apply for one because I got another year left before my contract with work is done. Is that even possible??

      • jhoy 05/28/2015 at 2:03 pm #

Hi wanderlass PLEASE can u give me some advice? Pls its very important for me, I need ur help, me and my bf we meet on online chat ( tagged) since 2013 to present we never met coz he can’t come here yet, court hold he’s passport after he’s house burned, he’s from UK pls is it possible to come there even we not meet yet and we don’t have picture together only on skype, he’s supporting me, and he’s willing to pay just toget me there, pls is it possible? Wat requirements we both need,

        • Ai 06/04/2015 at 5:47 pm #

          Hey Jhoy,
Take all the risks! Give it a go. Make sure you’ve got a substantial amount of money in your acct, Bank statements, bank certificate, employers certificate (if employed), payslips (if employed), title/deed of sale of your properties, his passport copy, Invitation letter from your BF or his family stating they will take responsible of your trip, his bank statements. Pictures are not needed really. UK consulate are pretty good actually as long as you can prove to them you are not going to be a burden when you get there. Hope that helps.

        • benditta 06/04/2015 at 5:51 pm #

We also meet online (OK cupid dating site) and here I am in UK now, I got refused on my dirty application due to luck of supporting documents, but on the 2nd try I’ve made it… I got multiple entry for 6months, then I came here first for 35days only and 2nd trip after a month,
Its really possible and positive to meet up,.. Just make sure you can provide some papers that you will be back in Philippines, and no intention of over staying in UK..
          Good luck

Hello benditta! I’m really happy for u, I hope I’m lucky as you too, but my bf can’t provide bank statement after he’s passport police got it, when he’s house burned, but he have enough or lots money got, he just can’t come here, I hope he’s family or brother can help us, cross finger, how much do I need to put money on my bank? I can get a business permit, or travel insurance, and I won’t over stay coz I can’t come back if I did that,

    Hi Wanderlass,
When was your update regarding the photocopies of passport made? Does it still hold true today? :)
Also, is there a required paper size for the documents to be in? (for example, our Schengen visa application thru Swiss embassy required documents in A4 paper size)

  52. sassykrissy 03/13/2015 at 2:36 pm #

Hi! I just want to share my experience in applying for a UK tourist visa so I could somehow shed some light too to those who want to apply for a tourist visa, and those who are worried with the status of their visa. I just received my visa 30 minutes ago! :) :) :)

I applied my tourist visa on February 28, with sponsorship from my British boyfriend. I am currently working as a college instructor in a university and also taking up graduate studies here in the Philippines. I submitted my COE (specifying that it will be summer in the Philippines soon and that I will return back once the academic year started), my bank book and a bank certificate of our time deposit (me and my dad’s account for 5 years), my registration form from the university where I am currently taking my masters, payslips, an itinerary that i made and an email registration from glastonbury music festival and my boyfriend’s financial and employment documents too.

I told them that I want to visit my boyfriend for 3 months (april-july) but I got worried that they might ask how can I afford not to work and study on June. On the essay part, I told them that the university where I work is aware that I took time off and I will return on July. And for my studies, I am currently writing my thesis and that I am not attending classroom lectures. I even told them that I’m on the last phase of my masters and that I will surely return to the Philippines to finish it.

I had my appointment at 7:30 am, waited for an hour for my turn and the processing took only for 10-20 minutes. I availed their courier and text services since I am from the north. I receive the message that the embassy received my application

Last night (march 12, 9th working day), I received a message “The processed visa application for GWF ref no. was received at the UK Visa Application Centre…….” I got worried again because I did not receive the message “your visa has been dispatched…” which most of those who were granted visa received based on the blog.

Then just 30 minutes ago, I received my documents. I expected the worst and already have this state of mind that I did not receive my visa. Opened the pages of my passport only to find out I was granted one starting March 10 to September 10!!!

Waiting for my boyfriend to wake up now and tell him the good news! Can’t wait!

Thank you so much wanderlass, commenters and readers for the tips! You can never tell if u were granted a visa or not through the “type of messages” you receive from the UK embassy and VFS. You will only find out ONCE YOU RECEIVE IT BACK.

    • Jonald 03/18/2015 at 10:16 am #

How nice! I am quite nervous and worry this time coz I lodged my documents last March 13, 2015 in UK Visa Application Centre.I have a flight this coming Holyweek April 2, 2015 to Japan. I didn’t apply for a priority visa coz its very expensive. The receptionist told me that the maximum processing would be 15 working days. Counting the remaining days before holidays only 13 days. Hope I will get my passport on or before the 13th working day so that I can go to Tokyo,Japan.Wishing also for a granted visa.

      • sisray 09/07/2015 at 11:58 am #

Hey Jonald, did you manage to get your passport back by the 13th working day? The waiting time is kinda insane, no?

    • S 03/18/2015 at 5:06 pm #

      Hi! Congrats on your visa!

We almost have the same situation except the part that I have a letter from employment that I am coming back to work. I am actually resigning to work because me and my boyfriend has other plans however, I won’t have other supporting documents like car or land title under my name. I just want to ask if you can suggest anything that could prove that I am coming back in the Philippines – I will anyway. I just don’t have any documents to submit. I would really appreciate your response regarding this.

I Like to inquiry here in this blog cause..I made a visa application last March 3 and I planning to leave this coming Saturday but unfortunately, I still no have a news if I been granted or deny..And it is really make me worried can anyone suggest how can I check my application status?

      • sisray 09/07/2015 at 11:45 am #

Hi Mitzi, so did you get your UK visa after all? I hope you did. :) How many working days did it take?

    • chieda 03/20/2015 at 11:53 am #

hi..ask ko lang kung need ba ng NBI clearance at NSO birth certificate pag mag apply ng tourist visa in uk?

    • iamhalf 03/21/2015 at 1:21 am #

Hello! I’ve been looking for posts on how to get a UK visa based on experiences and I can see that you’ve also obtained a US visa. Just want to ask which is easier to apply to? I heard that US visa approval is very subjective to the consul instead of looking into the papers.. is it like that when applying for UK visa? Or if you have good papers, then definitely you’ll be granted one? Thank you. Love to hear from you soon. And I love your wonderful life and your amazing blog!

    • jinnie 07/14/2015 at 9:49 am #

I received a txt msg yesterday that the processed visa application has been received at the VFS. Today I’m waiting for the txt msg saying its ready for pick up cos I opted for the Pick Up instead of them to be delivered. Should I go to vfs now or wait for the txt msg saying its ready for pick up?

  53. Bee 03/09/2015 at 2:41 pm #

Hi wanderlass, just want to share that am so thankful I’ve read ur blog many times before applying for a UK Visa. ;) Comments below also helped me a lot to study and do my homework (documentation) very well. And I must say, proper documentation and true intention will lead success in obtaining a Visa. And yeah, I was granted multiple 6 mos visa! ;)

I’ve enjoyed London last Christmas and hopefully will get to visit Scotland/Edinburgh before my visa expires.

And guess what, already got US Visa too! and now saving to travel again by Dec this year.

PS. You’re my idol in travelling! Hope I can meet you personally. :)

    • Ai 03/11/2015 at 5:32 pm #

      Hi Bee,

Congrats! I’ve been granted a multiple UK visa too but now you got me interested on your US visa. Ha! Mind if you share what are the requirements you’ve submitted for US visa?

      • Bee 03/11/2015 at 8:10 pm #

Hi Ai! Congrats on your UK Visa! As for NIV, I suggest prepare supporting documents that can strengthen your true intention – as a tourist. Anything that you think that can convince the Consul that you have strong economic, social & familial ties in the Philippines. (COE, Bank Statement, (Marriage Cert if married), Properties etc) You may check also in their website.

Though, I’ve noticed, most Consul don’t even bother to look at them during the interview. But still bring them with you just in case Consul will ask.

        • Ai 03/11/2015 at 8:18 pm #

          Thanks Bee!
Did you get yourself sponsored by someone living in the US?
Requirements are pretty much like they require for UK visa?
How long did you have to wait for the results?

          • Bee 03/11/2015 at 8:31 pm #

Hi Ai, no sponsor, will support my trip alone, i just declared i have a friend in US. Agree, pretty much the same in UK documentation. Any supporting docs you have must reflect your online application.

During your interview, Consul will entirely based on the information you’ve provided online.

          • Bee 03/11/2015 at 8:35 pm #

Oh i forgot, in less than 3 mins after 3-5 Questions, Consul will decide if visa granted or not. If granted, 3 working days you’ll get ur passport back with 10yrs multiple entry visa stamped on it. ;)

          • Ai 03/11/2015 at 8:38 pm #

Holy molly! Good for you Bee! I didn’t know they are that fast. I should try my luck as soon as I come back from UK!
Thanks for being so kind to answer my questions. Appreciate it.

          • Bee 03/11/2015 at 8:52 pm #

My pleasure Ai, glad helping fellow travelers. ;) go for it! Who knows, i applied approx 2 months after my London trip. So good luck to you! Update us ha!

    • Jonald 03/14/2015 at 11:23 pm #

      Hi Bee & Wanderlass,

Just done lodging my documents last Friday March 13, 2015 in VFS Global. I am so much worries coz I have to travel to Tokyo,Japan on April 2, 2015 for long holidays. The receptionist who assisted me told me that the actual process is within 15 days.Computing available days its around 13 days only. Hope I will get my visa very soon to afford to go to Japan in my trip.

      • Bee 03/17/2015 at 5:02 pm #

Hi Jonald, received my visa a week prior to my travel to London. In UKBA website it says 10 days will surely give you 99% your application has been processed, plus days on passport delivery, so most probably it will be on time.;)

        • Jonald 03/25/2015 at 4:45 pm #

          Hi Bee,

Just read your reply today, I’m still in a worries coz today is 8th working day so I am expecting till Friday( 10th working day) to have a confirmation coming from Embassy and visa centre. I just availed a” pick-up my passport” in visa centre coz considering the courier service it takes 2 to 3 days, so its running out of time.I really hope I will get my passport back early next week before holiday.

How much money should I reflect on my bank accounts? Is it better for us just to hire a travel agency instead?I’m sorry for the many questions.Thank you very much in advance and have a great day ahead.

Hi there… I’m scheduled to go to the embassy for an interview on Thursday. I have COE and all other documents from my company except for an absence letter cause the company doesn’t provide stuff like that. Would that be a problem? Also, my mom sent a letter indicating that I need to go back to the Philippines anyway since I’ll be processing my papers for her petition soon… would that help? I also like to ask how likely it is for the embassy to call my company. I can notify the admin about it, but if it’s not necessary, i’d really rather not. Help me out please. Thanks in advance.

Hi Wanderlass, If i get a UK Visa, do I still need a special or different visa to go to Scotland or Ireland?

    • wanderlass 01/24/2015 at 3:17 pm #

There are no borders within England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. To go to Republic of Ireland, you’ll need Schengen Visa.

Hi Wanderlass and people, I would like to ask if kakapasok pa lng nung money bank account , valid po b yun as bank statement? and d ko kasi sinusubmit yung online app, after po b nun matagal p ba yung appoinment for interview? thanks

Hi MJ, I would like to ask about the supporting docs, is it really required to have a 6 months pay slip? and after the online app, pagnapa-appointment ba, may slot or can they accomodate anyone? thanks!

hi wanderlass, i want you to know that your blog really helped me a lot on my general visitor visa application for UK. everything that you’ve said here were the exact things happened to me during the entire process of my application. i just went today from the application center. and now i’m just waiting for the result. i will let you know once i got my docs back. i’m positive that i can get my visa coz i am confident of the docs that i’ve submitted. for those who are planning to apply for a general visitor visa, here’s what i submitted:

scenario: i am married with 1 kid but i will be traveling alone to visit friends in UK wherein i will be staying with them

    1. my marriage certificate
    2. my child’s birth certificate
    3. my wife’s passport
    4. COE
    5. 6 months payslip
    6. ITR
    7. my wife’s COE
    8. my wife’s 6 months payslip
    9. my wife’s ITR
    10. invitation letter from my friend in UK
    11. copy of their passport and visa
    12. their tenancy agreement in UK
    13. their 6 months bank statements
    14. their payslips
    15. their P60 (equivalent to ITR in PH)
    16. their council tax certificate
    17. of course, my passport

the entire process took me 15 minutes including “chikahan” with the guards and parking.

hope this will serve as a guide also for others with the same scenario as mine

i will let you know of the result. thanks again wanderlass!

Hi! I will be traveling on April together with my mom. I will be applying just this month, January. I am currently employed and although I have family members in UK however, trip will not be sponsored therefore we will provide our own bank statements.

I would like to know if do I really need a letter from our company that they are allowing me for a series of absences for this trip?

Also, what are the instances that VISA request will be denied.

      Hoping for your help please!

      Thank you.

      • Ai 01/15/2015 at 8:59 pm #

Yep, you do need an absence letter from your company.
As long as you have all the docs needed and can prove that you’re not going to overstay and won’t be a burden whilst staying in UK, you’ll be granted a visa easily. Results normally takes 12-15 working days.
It can be really frustrating but it’s worth the wait. Mine took 11 working days!

Hi Wanderlass!!! I was doing a research when i came to your page. I have a friend in UK who invited me to visit UK. He was my cousin’s ex fiancee. My cousin died a year ago and she left her 20 year old daughter to me, Nikki. Nikki considered her mom’s ex-fiancee as a father and this British friend also considers Nikki as her own daughter. Now he planned to bring Nikki to UK and and send her to college as this was one of his promises to my cousin when they were still together. The reason why he invited me to visit UK is to look for a college there for Nikki, as right now Nikki is living with me. Do you think my application for tourist visa will be granted? I have no bank accounts to show but my Bristish friend says he will cover all of my expenses. It was suppose to be Nikki he was inviting but Nikki is currently working here in the Philippines and she doesn’t have a passport. since I am Nikki’s aunt, and i have my passport, i will be the one whom he will be inviting. What do you think are the documents that I can show to make my application strong one?

would anyone know or have an idea if it’s possible for a Filipino citizen to apply for a UK visa once, let’s say, Belgium or Paris? i already have a Schengen visa though.

    • lnrdgc_bgc 11/26/2014 at 10:54 pm #

To cza, are u askin if u Can apply uk visa while ur in belgium or france? Cause thats how i understand ur question. I just wanna verIfy. Because if my understanding is correct, then the answer is no youre not allowed to apply a uk visa in any of the Schengen countries. U have to do it here. Same rule applies if your a tourist in uk, u cant apply a schengen visa in french embassy london.

      • maybel 11/29/2014 at 11:11 am #

hi Inrdgc_bgc i came across your comment can you tell me if what i just read is correct i might not understand it. if your in japan (philippine passport holder) and want to apply a uk visa in japan, you can’t apply? cheers!

        • Lnrdgc_bgc 11/29/2014 at 2:15 pm #

Hi. If u are a philippine passport holder and is working and residing in japan. Then u can apply for a uk visa in british embassy in japan. But if u are a tourist in japan, then u cant apply for a uk visa in japan. You should be a permanent resident of the country where u want to apply a visa. For example i am a philippine passport holder and is on a working visa in belgium and i want to go to london. I can apply for a uk visa in british embassy in belgium. But if im there as a tourist and i wanna go straight from belgium to london. Then my appliation for a uk visa in british embassy belgium will not be accepted.

          • maybel 11/29/2014 at 7:37 pm #

hi thanks for the info btw im planning to get a tourist visa to japan sana next week kasi all the documents i needed from my sister who is in japan are already here, but my original plan was to apply a visa going to the uk.but unfortunately im still waiting for the all the documents to come through, thats why i decided to apply a visa to japan whilst im waiting for the other, but as you said its impossible for me to apply a visa to the uk if youre just a tourist in another country. i have to wait for the other documents to come through im guessing. one more thing.. if im already in the uk (fingers crossed) can i apply for a shengen visa while im in the uk?? sorry i have so many queries. thanks! x

          • Lnrdgc_bgc 11/29/2014 at 8:00 pm #

As stated on my previous comments, u cant apply a schengen visa in the UK if ur only a visitor. Ive reviewed that so many times with french embassy in london. They dont have the capacity to grant a visa for uk visitors…. Unless ofcourse if you live in the uk. Thats also the reason why im not yet flying to England as my The result of my Schengen visa is not yet readily available. U also have to apply it in the Philippines.

Can you please give us input on how to apply for a UK visa? does it have to be done online only? or travel agency? or through the UK embassy in Dubai? and to confirm also, there’s no need for him to process another visa in visiting Scotland right? ;) He’s having a hard time as of the moment on the steps he needs to take in applying for the visa. Your input will be greatly appreciated. thanx in advance!

        Hey there,

Your visa decision will be despatched shortly. Passports can normally be collected from the Visa Application Centre after 3 working days unless you have been advised it will be returned by courier or have paid an additional courier fee. ***I received this email from VFZ today, but it didn’t have any tracking number. I paid for courier so they’ll deliver it here. I just don’t know when. How long did it take before yours arrive?? I go to work everyday so I’m a little worried. Actually I think I’m having a panic attack here. Help me out please ^^

It is possible. You’d need to get a UK Visa as your Schegen Visa is only valid in those European countries part of the Schengen.

If you have your schengen visa, you can use that to travel to Belgium or Paris because they are part of European Union

    hi there
i have a question,i’m applying as an au pair in kingston London and i have found a family who can keep me and i will be staying in their house for 2 years. and generally work with them,my question is..my employer said that he can only assist me with half of the cost of money of the processing and i have to make half of the payments of the cost too. so i’m really having a hard time to understand the whole thing or what should i do to make it happen? i would like to get an advice with you guys what to do or the best thing to do it.. thanks

    • lnrdgc_bgc 11/26/2014 at 11:12 pm #

Hi iyah. I wanna be honest, u cannot get a visa to uk as an au pair. And to let u know, au pairs dont get a salary, they get either weekly or monthly allowance thats really below minimum. What au pairs do is, u live with the family for free, u eat there for free, but u clean house, walk dogs, cook, and take care of children. Di ka nila babayaran kc libre stay mo sa bahay nila. Its so hard to say sa embassy na kukunin ka dun para mag au pair. Kht sila pa gumastos syo ng processing. Tsaka sa uk au pair is usually mga galing EU tpos punta sila sa uk to learn english language and wala sila mastayan kaya mga au pair sila in return libre bahay. In ur case, hnd mapapatunayan sa embassy ang need nila kumuha ng au pair all the way to the philippines kasi andami naman nag aau pairsa EU countries. Rmmber priority ng immigration ang nsa european union. If ur applying as nurse, pwede ka pa makapunta pero au pair, 0% chance mo maapprove

    hello good day everyone.
i applied for a general tourist visa but it was denied. reason is that i dont have any work and i dont have any properties. but now i want to apply for a now one. would it be helpful to included my house ? but the lot is not mine i only own and build the house i was staying right now. also at my first application i include my son and he is not going with me my sisters will take care of him while i visit my boyfriend for two months. can you please give me some advice if what to do? for my next application?

    • theduke3000 11/17/2014 at 6:47 am #

if you told them you were visiting your boyfriend you would need a different visa.
Here in the UK authorities are very suspicious and untrusting. if you tell them you were visiting your boyfriend they would suspect you would stay longer than allowed.
if you are visiting your boyfriend you would usualy need to apply for a “fiance” visa, which costs a considerable amount more than a tourist visa.
my advice would be to try to find a philipino community in the UK and apply to visit friends who live in the UK and are UK citizens.
the less they know about your boyfriend the better. they will fear the worst and suspect you may get yourself pregnant and stay for good.
unfortunately you might have to be as dishonest as you can to make sure your application is sucesful otherwise you run the risk of being refused again. which can cause problems for future application.
it might be easier finding what jobs are avaialble in UK hospitals employ a lot of philipino staff to clean wards so it might be easier finding out who is employing and apply for a work visa.

Hi theduke3000!I am really confused about what I’ve read about General Visitor Visa at ukvi website states that you can apply if you’re visiting friends or family who aren’t permanent resident in the UK. Can you please explain for help coz my husbands cousin wanted me to invite next year for tourist and she is british citizen already. She will cover my accomodation when I am in UK. What kind of visa I am going to apply?Kindly advice me for help?

    • lnrdgc_bgc 11/20/2014 at 10:25 am #

Hi, i also applied for a UK visit visa (short term) last Nov 5 2014.
Nov. 17 got an email from british embassy manila saying it has been processed and will be despatched shortly. Nov 18, got an email from vfs global saying it arrived and can now be claimed but i paid for courier (500 pesos) so i waited for it to arrive. Got it yesterday via 2Go with a uk visa on my passport.

I am also unemployed here in the Philippines, got no credit card, no house or lot or any properties. My bank account has savings in it but just about 200k. It didnt even reached 300k.

      • jema 11/24/2014 at 9:32 am #

Hi there. I’m planning to apply for a visa as well. My boyfriend and his family are going to sponsor me. I got all the papers done…but I’m still worried. I only have 100k in my bank, though I got their bank statements showing they got more than enough to cover for me for six months. I have a job here in the Philippines and I was able to get a COE. Would my insufficient money in the bank be a problem???

        • Lnrdgc_bgc 11/24/2014 at 9:42 am #

I think its not a problem. Since they will sponsor you. U need their payslips, bank statements, letter of sponsorship. I also submitted our photos together and even styed im not gonna pay anything but i have 30k pesos or about £500 to spend in case i get lost or something. And i have been approved.

          • rrfl 11/24/2014 at 1:04 pm #

Hi Lnrdgc_bgc. Can you pls tell me the exact documents youve lodged. Mine was refused a few days ago because I am unemployed got no assets to show nor any strong ties. Thank you.

          • Lnrdgc_bgc 11/26/2014 at 5:30 pm #

Hi rrfl, sorry to hear u wer refused. I just submitted bank statemnts, payslips, flight tickets. But pls take note our cases are different even if wer both unemployed. First of, ive traveled abroad. And i lived, worked and studied in the uk for 2 yrs (2010-2012) thats wen i met my bf/fiancee. He visited me in manila (to meet my family) and i went to his family in bacolod in 2013 & aug 2014. I submitted photos of those. And ive met his family in the uk too and stayed with them. Plus i forgot to mention, last time he was here, we changed my indiviual bank account to joiny account so his name would appear. I also submitted his naturalization cert and his divorce docs plus he own a company in the uk with my name on it. And u submitted it all. He gave me all original when he was here. And even his tita gave me a letter of invitation. And about my family ties, all my immediate family are in the philippines so I got strong family ties here. Although I dont work because my dad has a business and he pays everything so i dont need to work really, and my bf/fiancee sends money. And i got shares as well from philippine stock exchange (although i only started) maybe u need to prove that uve traveled. UK ang pinakamahirap na country na makakuha ng visa. And when i was living there, ang advice nila skin is dont overstay. Kc madali makapagreapply ng visa sa uk at mag apply ng visa sa other places kapag hnd nag overstay sa uk. So ayun. I went home just before my visa expired in 2012.

            Hello, Lnrdgc_bgc,
I’m planning to apply General UK visit visa, and my boyfriend will sponsor me, he will pay all my expenses, I have a business here in Philippines, would it be enough to submit my business permit and my bank account?please reply

Hi there. Your responses to my messages had been really helpful. Anyway, I got the documents from my boyfriend and hid family already and they stated six months in their invitation.. Do you think that could be a problem? They made a detailed itinerary as to what I’ll be doing while I’m there.. Do you think that’d be enough to get pass the embassy? Thanks in advance

      • jhess 11/28/2014 at 7:48 am #

So you are saying that you are successfuly got the UK visa?? But how did you get that so easily??

        • Lnrdgc_bgc 11/29/2014 at 2:22 pm #

Yes. Because I have traveled across the UK in the past and i have not breached any of my previous visa conditions. And i was able to clearly state the reason of my intended travel. I submitted genuine and relevant documents.

Hi Lnrdgc_bgc, i am planning to apply visa and my british bf will sponsor me. Ask ko lng po, kailangan pa po ba kasama bf ko pupunta sa embassy o ok lng kung hindi na as long as ive got all his documents?

          • Lnrdgc_bgc 09/25/2015 at 5:54 pm #

U dont need to go with ur bf. Because ur not going to british embassy manila. U will only submit ur papers to vfs global in eco plaza. And hnd nmn makakapasok ang walang appointment.

Thanks for the reply. Just one more question, can i just bring a photocopy of his documents like the land title, council tax, bank details, etc or do i realy need to the bring the original? Yong original kasi ayaw niya esubmit for security reason. Ok lng sana kung dadalhin ko tapos ang photocopy lng ang kunin nila.

        Hi, Inrdgc_bgc ,

May I ask po if you have a sponsor for the application? I have a job here in the philippines but actually, don’t have an ITR because my wage does is only minimum. my boyfriend wants to invite me for a vacation. I really wanna know what to do. thank you

      • asdfg 12/11/2014 at 9:32 pm #

Hi! I would also want to apply for a UK visa for vacation this May to June of 2015. And that time, I would be a College fresh graduate. I will stay there for about a month. My aunt will sponsor me for my visit. Do you think that will suffice the embassy to allow me a tourist Visa? And if my aunt will be sponsoring me, how much should I put in my bank account? And can I visit Paris if they approved my Visa? Thank you! :D

        • Lnrdgc_bgc 12/12/2014 at 5:32 pm #

If your sponsor is in the UK, u normally need not to submit your financial documents. But u need to submit your sponsors proof of status in the uk, and financial docs. Also, u cant visit france with a uk visa. UK visa is for UK Alone. U have to apply for another visa in french embassy called Schengen.

Pls take note your a fresh grad, u need to convince the embassy that your arent goin there for work. U gotta have a very strong proof that you are coming back.

          • asdfg 12/12/2014 at 6:36 pm #

Hi, thank you for your reply. :)

Is telling the embassy that I will be back for my Graduation march okay? :)

          • Lnrdgc_bgc 12/12/2014 at 10:43 pm #

U can add that to your supporting docs. But its not enough to state that you have a graduation in march. U need to provide school docs, as well as proof that you are to graduate and the invitation for graduation. School details, proof of everything school related..

In addition to that, u need to prove strong family ties in the philippines.

Hello! I came across this thread (thank God). Would like to ask about the application, like what did you answer on the part of the application were it says “Income and Expenditure” if you are unemployed. I am currently having this dilemma as I left my job recently in Singapore, but I have more than enough money to travel in the UK. I am applying for a student visitor visa in UK and I found out that the application for visit/tourist visa is the same as the student visitor/short term visa. Hope you could help me. Thank you

Hi po,im Marge,I need some advice about my refusal visit visa.On my letter decision, they refused its because I think is about of my bank statement. They confused its because im un employed but I have savings. My boyfriend is my sponsor and he looking after for all documents I need like his invitation leter, copy of passport, his bank statement, accomodation etc. The problem is i don’t have evidence of ties to home country – like ownership of property(title?). I used to rent house only which is my boyfriend paid for it.Usually my boyfriend help me and looking after for all my expenses as well that’s why i have savings..Can you pls help me and advice what do i need to do..Or any requirements do i need about evidence ties to home country aside property?? Thank you for all your help..

    • lnrdgc_bgc 11/20/2014 at 10:29 am #

But i dont have relatives in the UK. All my family ties are in the philippines. The reason for my application is to visit my boyfriend. Because its true. Fiancee visas are for those who wants to go there and marry their british partners

      • jema 11/24/2014 at 9:55 am #

Thanks for your answer. I’m just wondering if it’d be better for us to claim that I’ll be staying there for only two months instead of six even if we’re really planning for me to stay there for six months. Will I still get a six month worth of visa even if I claim to just stay for two?

        • Lnrdgc_bgc 11/24/2014 at 10:29 am #

Yeah, thats what I did. anyway, even if u say that you’ll be staying for 2 weeks you’ll still be approved of 6 months. That should not be a problem. Plus its very important to be able to explain the purpose of your visit. Like me, I stated im gonna stay for 15 days, just for Christmas holidays. yet il stay for the rest of the validity of my visa. 15 days is easier to explain. Its so hard to explain at the immigration officer why youre staying for so long right?

          • jema 11/24/2014 at 5:42 pm #

Hi jema, i dont know if stating that ul be there for 6 months will be a problem. Its really a case to case basis. Basta what i did to mine is say na 2 weeks lang to make their decision process faster. Kc u have to give itineraries. Also hnd lang kasi yun ibbase sa invitation nila. ibbase din yun sa travel history mo. And take note, i said i intend to travel dec 19, cause is christmas holiday hanggang jan 4. I was expecting na december pa valid ang visa ko, but i got it nov 19, valid na sya nung nov 17 pa. Eh 180 days exact lng dba? Hanggang may 17 lang ako. And im not yet prepared to travel ngyn since nag apply pa ko schengen. So nababawasan na ang 6 months ko. What a waste of time. Hehe… Just follow ang guidelines nila.

          • jema 11/26/2014 at 7:27 pm #

Hi.. I’m getting more and more nervous about this. Haha. Anyway, what I have so far is mine and my bf’s bank statement, mine and his COE, his and his parents invitation letters, his previous passport and copy of his current passport, billing statements for their house, a detailed itinerary, photos of us, and hotel reservations when we went to hongkong last summer with his family. That was actually my first time travelling abroad. I’m not sure if those will be enough…so I’m just crossing my fingers here.

          • Lnrdgc_bgc 11/26/2014 at 10:39 pm #

Its very normal jema to get so anxious and nervous and all that. Mine peaked when i receive the despatched email. I was ready to accept that my entry has been denied but yeah, it wasnt. Mind you, my first UK visa took 5 months (although that wasnt a visit visa) anyway, goodluck to your application. Btw, if they have their own house, i think u need to submit council tax statement or receipt, mortgage statement and if renting, they need to provide u their tenancy agreement and letter from the house owner that you are allowed to stay in their place. And your cover letter must state how and when did you meet him. Goodluck ulit!

          • jema 11/27/2014 at 12:20 am #

OMG! I was so totally unaware of the need for a cover letter. I check out the list of documents needed to pass in UK embassy website and it so did not say anything about a cover letter! You are an angel! Haha. I’m preparing all the documents at the moment. Thanks for all the help.

            Hi Lnrdg_bgc

I Applied UK tourist visa last November 19 2014, I got approved and I received it today December 4, 2014 . My travel date would be January 7. My concern is I put on my application that I will just stay there for 2 weeks , But I got Multiple Entry valid for 6 months, Can I stay there for until16 days? Even though I put 2 weeks or 14 days on my Application?

          • Lnrdgc_bgc 12/05/2014 at 2:57 pm #

Hi emma. Yes you can stay longer than what you said on your application. They will not check it anymore. Cause circumstances often change, wats important is that you u go home before ur visa expiry date and u follow the conditions of your visa. Happy travel!

    • lnrdgc_bgc 11/20/2014 at 10:35 am #

My suggestion is try to shorten the time of your visit so instead of 2 months make it 3 weeks. Anyway, they will still give you 6 months of a valid uk visa. Goodluck! by the way, my bf will sponsor me so i showed his bank statements too as well as mine. Because obviously my 200k wont be approved alone.

      • jema 11/24/2014 at 9:42 am #

Hi there. Thanks for this very informative details. I just want to ask some questions, and I hope you can help me out. You see, I only have 100k on my bank, but I have my boyfriend’s bank details showing he’s got enough to cover for me. Would my insufficient money in the bank be a problem? Also, we’re planning on applying for six months (we’ll be making efforts with the visa thing, so we figure might as well use up all the days allowed for me to stay there) would it be better though if we just claim that I’ll be staying there for three or two months instead of six? And if we do that, will I still get six months worth of visa? I have a work here and my documents are complete with COE and payslilps…would that help make up for what’s lacking on my bank??

“Hi Everyone. I need some help here. I applied for a general visa with a full sponsorship and received an email yesterday stating “Your decision will be despatched shortly. Passports can normally be collected from the Visa Application Centre after 3 working days unless you have been advised it will be returned by courier or have paid an additional courier fee”.For now, I don’t have any tracking number from 2go as I paid extra service to have this delivered at home. Does anyone knows if how soon will I receive my passport? Or will I be contacted again with the tracking information?

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance and wishing everyone a positive outcome on the application.

Hello, normally if you get that email, your docs should be ready for collection. You don’t have to wait 2-3 days. If you’re nearby, just go and pick it up yourself. (weekdays between 1400-1500). Hope that helps!

    Hi Wanderlass!
My question is about income requirement. My husband needs to meet 18,600 annual income. He’s got 2jobs both on non-salaried employment, working for 6months now. His first job which he does on weekdays he earns £17.700 and his second job on the weekends he earns about £2,000. Can we add up both non-salaried income to meet the financial requirement? Is it allowed to add both non-salaried income? Hope you can help me clarify this. Thank you

        HI Mabzi! :)
I am filling out the the form now and I am still confuse if my husband’s income falls under CategoryA or CategoryB. In the other forum someone says CategoryB for those with two incomes. But if you check Gov.uk website it clearly says CategoryA is for those who are working with same company for 6months and above. CategoryB are for those working for less then 6months.

My husband is in non-salaried employment for both jobs and is working for 6months now. Isn’t he under CategoryA?

Hi, is there anyone know exactly how to get a refund fo my settlement visa i paid online? The problem was, it took me so long to complete my english test and my medical tb test so it took just over 3 months, the vip section said that it just expired so i need to resubmit my application and pay online again. But i the vip manager told me that i can refund my previous expired application online bit when i tried to make a resubmission, we didint see the refund section or button so i did not continue the application form online. hi! i am student visa holder before, i arrived in UK 2010 then i went back home 2012 before my visa expired. Now I am planning to apply again but as a tourist this coming christmas for 2 weeks. Is there a big chance for me for approval of my application by the consul? I am a regular employee now and i earned 25k a month and I have 400k in my bank. what do you think?

    • mabzi 10/09/2014 at 8:40 am #

Hi ya. have a go there’s no harm on trying. we’re on the same boat i’m planning to apply a general tourist visa soon. hopefully they will grant me. good luck!

  95. rose anne c 09/23/2014 at 5:44 pm #

I got an email today from vfs stating that “your visa application decision will be dispatched shortly.” Does this mean that my visa has been denied?

    • wanderlass 09/24/2014 at 4:06 pm #

it means you will find out soon.

      • rose anne c 09/25/2014 at 1:38 am #

Yes i know it sounds silly but i have read a lot of blogs saying that whenever this is the message they receive, usually it means it is refused.

I just like to know if you ever encountered someone in this thread to have received the same email and what did they tell you about their results.

        • winterheartspeaks 10/01/2014 at 5:09 pm #

Hi Rose Anne! I wonder what’s the update about your application? When did you apply btw? I submitted mine last Sept 24 2014 and until now, I haven’t received an email from them. Not even a confirmation if they have received my application. It’s been 5 days already though. I hope I get it within 10 days because I look forward to doing the trip in fall. :/ I don’t want to miss the fall colours. I hope it wont really take 3 weeks or I might miss the opportunity to go there….

          • mssw 10/04/2014 at 4:07 am #

Submitted mine last September 24 too! Any update with your application? Thanks!

          • rose anne c 10/09/2014 at 2:15 am #

            Hi winterheartspeaks!

You can email or call the UKVI with regards to your application status. You can expect a reply from them after a day.

            And about my visa application,
I received the result of my application last September 25 with all the docs I submitted for my application.
Unfortunately, my visa application was REFUSED.

However, after finding a mistake on the visa decision, I immediately filed for an Administrative Review. And after a week, I received a very good news that the decision was overturned and my request for an AR was successful.

They requested for my passport last Friday and now I am just waiting for it to be mailed back to me with the visa.

I just like to take this opportunity also to ask if anyone here knows how long does it usually take for the UKVI to stamp or place a visa on a passport?

          • Irine 10/09/2014 at 2:22 am #

            Hi winterheartspeaks,
How did you apply for an administrative review? And would you mind me asking why your visa was turned down?

          • Mssw 10/09/2014 at 5:55 am #

            Hi Rose Anne C.,

For how many days did you have to wait for you to get your refused application?

And, what kind of email did you get on your approval? Thanks!

        • abcdef 12/30/2014 at 5:42 am #

Hi rose ann c, did you apply for tourist visa? and how did you apply for administrative review? pls reply. thanks

        • Dianne 06/18/2015 at 1:19 am #

Hi rose ann, i got refused too! But i want to re-apply.. Parehas lang ba yan administrative review sa re-apply? And how do you do that diba may papa fill up sila jan then san isesend? Sa vfs ba ulit? And how long bago natangap ulit ung passport . Thankyou hoping for your reply..

need po ba ang NBI clearance at NSO borth cert. pag nag apply ng tourist visa in uk?

    • winterheartspeaks 10/09/2014 at 10:13 am #

Rose Ann, Congratulations. :) Bon Voyage.

I want to ask how long it took them to give you their decision? It’s my 10th day now (Submitted my application on Sept 24, at VFK global Ecoplaza Makati), still no feedback from them. Will gladly appreciate your insight on it.

Another question is that, did you file for a General Visitor Visa? Are your papers sponsored, too? Im kind of worried. I will be traveling there with my friend together with his family and he will be financing my entire trip, as what was stated in his letter. They probably are more strict in cases like mine. Hopefully not. I pray I receive the results soon.

      1. Wonder how long it usually take them to process GVV in cases like mine who has no relatives or immediate connection to the UK? It says in their website that 97% of application get processed within 10 days. I hope I belong in that percentage. How about you, fellow applicants?

      2. Is there no working passport tracking tool from UK-Manila embassy? I guess I’ve tried so many links but none of them works.

      3. I emailed them and they keep saying that my application is yet to be processed. It’s been 10 days now. Could it be that they haven’t even touched my application?

Hay. :/ I haven’t received any email from them yet. At least I want to know what stage is my application on now. This is stressing me out :DD

      • Sham 10/10/2014 at 2:28 pm #

Hi Winter heart speaks, have u received any update from them regarding your visa application. I have also applied on the same day for a GVV and waiting for their decision.

Usually what will be the email reply from them for a positive and negative decision made by them on the visa application. ..any idea…

These are few nail biting moments especially when we have already a plan in place and waiting anxiously for the results..reminds me of the examination days in our schools and colleges…..

Phewww…only prayer is that the EOC should be in a good mood while reviewing the applications….

        • winterheartspeaks 10/12/2014 at 7:08 pm #

I have received an email from them after 12 working days, which is the minimum. So glad that waiting time is over because I have to do the trip soon. I will claim the passport on Monday at Ecoplaza Makati. The email I received on the 12th day were:

          1. From UKVI: Your decision will be despatched shortly. Passports can normally be collected from the Visa Application Centre after 3 working days unless you have been advised it will be returned by courier or have paid an additional courier fee.

          2. From VFSGlobal: The processed visa application for GWF reference number – GWFXXXXXwas received at the UK Visa Application Centre on 10/10/2014 2:27 PM . If a courier service was purchased from VFS Global, your processed application will be delivered to the chosen address.

I received notice both from UK Visa Hub and VFSGlobal on the same day (Friday, 12th working day, so I had to painfully worry and wait on the weekend until Monday). I can only hope that they’ll give me this opportunity because I, myself, believe I do not have very good financial statements and bank accounts. Other than that, I have no problems. I am employed, with previous travel experiences, had previous passports and ties to go back to. Hay…I just pray the ECO understood and nice to consider me.

Sham, don’t worry, iba iba din tayo ng ECO na nag ccheck :P Assessment process may vary on every applicant. You will really receive an email from them or you can email the uk customer embassy service for updates. Actually, I did that 5 times before I got answer from UKVI. Sobrang nag mamadali kasi ako.

Tip, Do not worry so much and just check your email day and night. Wala nmn tayo talaga magagawa even if we worry so much. Just relax and wait (I know it’s hard…)

          Goodluck, Sham..

          • Jayr 07/22/2015 at 9:53 pm #

Hi winterheart speaks! I would like to ask what time did the UKVI emailed you?

      • winterheartspeaks 10/14/2014 at 5:20 pm #

Hi everybody. After waiting for the 12th working day, I finally received my UK Visa.

It’s about being patient. Yun lang talaga magagawa natin. :)

Great news winter heart. ..congrats…my 12th working day will be over today n hopefully tomorrow I will receive some update….wish u a sweet trip to uk n enjoy….

can you choose a date? because when i return from a flight abroad as well, i’ll go directly to the embassy if ever. –so is there an option for a date or they will give you a certain date and you just have to be there?

    • wanderlass 09/16/2014 at 10:52 pm #

they will give you the first available date and if you’re not available then you have to choose a later date.

  118. Noelle 06/26/2014 at 4:35 pm #

Hi Wanderlass and readers of your blog, just want to share our experience in applying for our UK general visit visa.

We submitted documents and biometrics last June 9. From the time we submitted our application, not once did we get any update from VFS even if we availed of the SMS/email update for 150 pesos. We got worried so we followed up via email. As of last Friday, June 20 according to the reply, my husband’s application “has not been assessed by an Entry Clearance Officer.” After getting that email we thought it was impossible to have our application processed within 15 working days. Yesterday i received an email from VFS saying “the processed visa application for GWF…was received at the UK Visa Application Centre” with instructions how to retrieve passports (either courier or personal collection). Based on what I’ve read from blogs and forums, if you get that email and nothing else, you’re most likely denied. Usually the approved ones get a separate email from the UK Embassy directly… So we expected the worst. To my surprise, today, I got our passports back with approved UK visas.

Just wanted to share – you can never really know you’re approved or denied by basing it with their updates or emails. You’ll really have to wait until you get your passport back to see for sure.

    Good luck to everyone!

    • danleighyan 07/03/2014 at 9:55 am #

Hi Noelle just want to ask what documents have u been submitted? As i was pass this wednesday the invitation letter from my boyfriend that indicate there we will travel together. Also his bank statement also my bank statement too. Our birth certificate together!!! Photocopy of his passport and his seaman ID photocopy asweel and the booking ticket. And our pictures together!!! You think they will approve me a visa??

          • Noelle 07/11/2014 at 11:46 pm #

Hi Abby, I’m not sure if we applied for the same visa type. My husband and I applied for a general visitor visa. We just submitted everything they required as support document which is found in the website.

As for the approval, I cannot really predict what the British Consulate’s decision will be. If you’re confident that you provided the necessary documents then I guess there’s nothing to worry about.

        • danleighyan 07/16/2014 at 1:54 pm #

It will be a great opportunity to spend this trip with a special person in my life somewhere in Europe. I will know in two days. I will update you. :/ Still worried

      Dear XXX,

The processed visa application for GWF reference number – GWF0XXXX was received at the UK Visa Application Centre on 10/10/2014 2:27 PM .
If a courier service was purchased from VFS Global, your processed application will be delivered to the chosen address.

If not, your documents can be collected during the designated passport collection times.

Please note this is an auto generated e-mail. Please do NOT reply to this email.

I think there is a good chance as long as you can prove that they will support you financially during your stay, or if you are supporting yourself, you have to prove you have enough money to do so. The bottom line is you will not be a burden to their country when you visit.

I am planning to travel to UK with my 1 year old Daughter this August. My daughter is in the Philippines and I on the other hand is working In Singapore. Do I need to book an appointment for her in the Philippines (Uk Agent Centre) for the interview & submission of documents ?
Or can I just tag along her visa application with mine , so I bring her with me when my appointment is booked here in Singapore since she an (under 18)?

Thank you and hope someone can help me with this matter..

    • wanderlass 06/22/2014 at 4:23 pm #

The UK Visa Information states that every person applying for visa need to appear at the center. So either she comes with you on your Singapore interview or you set up another one for her here in the Philippines

eived a txt msg yesterday that the processed visa application has been received at the VFS. Today I’m waiting for the txt msg saying its ready for pick up cos I opted for the Pick Up instead of them to be delivered. Should I go to vfs now or wait for the txt msg saying its ready for pick up?

My uncle is planning to go to London and he wants to bring us with him. He’ll pay for everything, from airfare to lodging and even our stay there. But the thing is, he lives in Texas and we’re here in the Philippines. How can we prove the financial capability?

    • Paula 06/20/2014 at 11:59 pm #

Also, I have never gone out of the country. If I get approved, this will be my first out of the country trip. Will it matter to my application? Do I need to go out of the country first?

      • wanderlass 06/22/2014 at 4:24 pm #

you only need to prove you have enough money to support your travel and enough reason that you will come back home.

    • wanderlass 06/22/2014 at 4:10 pm #

He can send his papers (invitation letter, proof of support, proof of financial capability) through courier or USPS for you to submit.

Hi wanderlass. I just want to ask how did the visa it takes! As my boyfriend was planning to take me in UK this coming august. But were planning to filled up the form when he was here on July 20 then book an appointment in that day asweel onJuly 21. Is that OK? Or maybe I have to filled up the form early than that? Thanks

        • wanderlass 06/09/2014 at 3:50 pm #

You can call the agency to schedule for your submission. Of course I mean on the date that your fiance is in the Philippines as sometimes the appointment can be booked up quickly.

hi abby, i am also planning to go to UK and I have a friend who wants to sponsor me… can you please tell me more about the invitation letter.. did your sponsor get it from their government agency, (as in its a template which the sponsor has to get himself there) or is it just a normal letter? can you send me a sample please? thank you abby….

          • Abby 07/02/2014 at 3:07 pm #

If your friend is the one who sponsor u. He just have to do a invitation letter for u, that indicate in there that his the one who support all your financial while your in UK. Its just a normal letter!!
