We were recently invited by Sophia Lee of Abbondanza Pizzeria Ristorante to visit their new branch at SM Mall of Asia and sample some of their menu. We were warmly greeted by the owners who were quick to inform us that they had prepared a sample of their best menu. I was immediately drawn to the glass window which revealed the kitchen, where the crew was already preparing our feast for that night.

It then came as a welcome surprise when the owners asked my sister, Candie if she wanted to make her own pizza. As the resident “I’ll-try-anything-because-I-have-all-the-time-in-the-world” in the family, she gave no second thoughts and quickly declared that “Quatro Formagi Pizza” would be part of our meal.

After a few minutes of being teased by the aroma of Italian food coming from the kitchen, we were served the following dishes:

As the food kept coming, I was curious to check the prices and noted that the food was priced in the mid-range, which I think promotes the sharing of food.

Abbondanza truly lived up to its name as each plate was probably good for 2 to 3 persons, depending on your appetite for the day. As we were nearly managing to finish our full-on dinner, a platter of dessert descended upon our table.

I highly recommend Abbondanza as a place to dine for close friends and family with big appetites! Afterall, Abbondanza also means “to share”.
