I first heard of Eat, Pray, Love from Steffi, a German girl I hosted in Manila while she’s traveling around Asia. And who I bumped into, unplanned, in Kyoto. A few months later, I inherited my copy from Lynne, a Canadian lass who has lived everywhere and was in the Philippines to scuba dive. And who I met up, planned, in Montreal. After readinging the book, incidentally in Bali, I passed it to Nina, another solo female traveler I met and hanged out with (in Bali). And I plan to vist her when I go to Europe again next year.
I recently saw the trailer of the movie based on book Eat, Pray, Love and got nostalgic. It was the last stop of my Indonesian trip in 2009 but never got to blog because… err, I got lazy. Bali was a memorable trip for me because aside from the nice travelers I met, I got an everlasting souvenir. I’ll write about it later!

The film stars Julia Roberts and I would totally cast her. I’m looking forward to watch it this August. The book is a good read and I like it ok. It tells of a woman in the midst of an emotional crisis went traveling to sort herself out. No wonder it’s a favorite read of many women travelers. Eat, Pray, Love is an autobiographical book of Elizabeth Gilbert whose emotional journey brought her to Italy, India, and Indonesia, incidentally (or not), to eat, pray, and love.

Lil, you should also check out Tales of a Female Noamd. It's an essay. Tells of an older woman who went through a divorce in her late 40's or early 50's and how she changed the course of her life from a boring old housewife, to a nomad. Pretty cool read.
