Welcome to Wanderlass Travel Blog
Wanderlass blog began in 2007 as a mean to update my family and friends during my first solo trip to Europe. As our memory struggles against forgetting, this blog serves as a backup memory of my travels around the world. Please enjoy!
Diving Tubbataha Reef is one of the best experience in my dive life. Everyone should experience the wonderful Tubbataha underwater wonder.
The most splendid thing about my group of friends is how mobile we all are. We can be talking about a restaurant in Pampanga on Tuesday and Saturday, we're on the road. And so when Ford Philippines generously offered to lend us their Ford Escape for a weekend...
We began our last full day (DAY 3) in Chinatown for yum cha 飲茶, literally Cantonese for "drinking tea" but the term is commonly used to refer to drinking tea with dimsum. I suppose this term originated in Hong Kong but is famous in Chinatown all over the world. The...
Some were really surprised that it's my first time to Singapore. A lot of people I know absolutely adore it and I can understand why. It's clean and modern and bright and systematic. People are nice and everyone speaks English. It just never interests me much because...
Diving the Wrecks in Coron + Barracuda Lake Coron Island is located at the northern part of Palawan and is most famously known for the WWII Ship Wrecks. It has been on my list of "places to go to in Philippines" and I'm happy to finally cross it off my list. So for...
At 10:00 the group met at Expedition Fleet office in Makati. I'm sure it's a bit intimidating having over 20 people arrived in flock. Most of us who came directly from the resort were still in our island get-up. ABS-CBN already called them up to get their side of the...
The lass who wanders.
I travel the world on a quest to live a life not ordinary.
In the world that I wander in, one lives a fulfilling life when one follows a set path: excel as a student, secure a high-paying job, find a well to do, stable and kind partner, marry, have a million babies, and live happily ever after. For we were programmed (brainwashed?) with this narrative since childhood, it was naturally the "ever-after" I blindly sought.
However, life, with its enigmatic agenda, had other plans. Luckily, I woke up from this slumber somewhere along this journey. While my hands were never tied, my mind was shackled with unending sense of guilt and sea of inhibitions. I now understand it was my parents' way of being protective. But the moment the spell was broken, I began to see with a pair of new goggles, and I gasped for breath.
I unearthed the vastness of the world and the infinite possibilities life offers! I became different from the people around me. I’ve ignited latent passions and developed new verve for living. While part of me wishes that this revelation had come sooner, I am who I am because of who I was. I've always been a fast learner so I will catch up! This is my quest to live a life not ordinary!
It is not death that a man should fear. But he should fear never beginning to live.
