Welcome to Wanderlass Travel Blog

Wanderlass blog began in 2007 as a mean to update my family and friends during my first solo trip to Europe. As our memory struggles against forgetting, this blog serves as a backup memory of my travels around the world. Please enjoy!

DIY Day Trip to West Bank, Palestine

How to Get to West Bank from Jerusalem After being overwhelmed in Jerusalem, where Jesus walked on his final days, I decided to take the day trip to Bethlehem.  I found some brochures at the Tourist Center at the Jaffa Gate entrance and I almost book the trip with...

Trip to Jerusalem

From the sin city of Tel-Aviv I arrived to Jerusalem. There's no mistaking it as the view changed almost 180˚-- from the shortest of shorts to the longest of skirts. The religious men in black suit and white beard walked about are all over. I naturally head over to...

Resplendently Tel-Aviv

If I'm an Israeli, Tel-Aviv would be my city. It's the city of resplendent women, men, and gays. Picture gorgeous women in shortest shorts and beautiful men with washboard abs. It brings one's testosterone level several notches up just coming to the border.  Even the...

The lass who wanders.

I travel the world on a quest to live a life not ordinary.

Come, wander with me!

This is my story

In the world that I wander in, one lives a fulfilling life when one follows a set path: excel as a student, secure a high-paying job, find a well to do, stable and kind partner, marry, have a million babies, and live happily ever after. For we were programmed (brainwashed?) with this narrative since childhood, it was naturally the "ever-after" I blindly sought.

However, life, with its enigmatic agenda, had other plans. Luckily, I woke up from this slumber somewhere along this journey. While my hands were never tied, my mind was shackled with unending sense of guilt and sea of inhibitions. I now understand it was my parents' way of being protective. But the moment the spell was broken, I began to see with a pair of new goggles, and I gasped for breath.

I unearthed the vastness of the world and the infinite possibilities life offers! I became different from the people around me. I’ve ignited latent passions and developed new verve for living. While part of me wishes that this revelation had come sooner, I am who I am because of who I was. I've always been a fast learner so I will catch up! This is my quest to live a life not ordinary!

It is not death that a man should fear. But he should fear never beginning to live.

– Marcus Aurelius
