Welcome to Wanderlass Travel Blog

Wanderlass blog began in 2007 as a mean to update my family and friends during my first solo trip to Europe. As our memory struggles against forgetting, this blog serves as a backup memory of my travels around the world. Please enjoy!

Beautiful Venezia

Venice is really one of the most unique places in the world. It’s built on 117 small islands connected by 409 bridges. Instead of having cars, people have boats. Water taxi and water metro in place of our land version. But the main mode of transport in exploring the city will be your feet.

The Train Incident They knocked on our cabin and identified themselves as Hungarian Passport Security and asked for our passports. We're about to enter non-EU country Croatia. I only found out that this train route passes through Croatia from the 3 other passengers...

Here’s a plan, no plan: UK Version

It's funny for me to hear someone tell me that my trip is organized. Josh even went overboard saying I did tremendous pre-trip planning. Because the truth is, my trip is anything BUT organized. If you only knew that Raz had to drive me to a bookstore in Tel-Aviv so we...

100th day of traveling

Today is the 100th day since I almost got a heart attack at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport when they tried to verify my return ticket. 100 days is so far the longest time I've been away from home. For those who just tuned in, I'm at the moment on my own epic...

London Markets

Visiting markets is one of my favorite thing to do in a city. And not because I'm a shopaholic. No,no, because I've already resolved that if I'm traveling for a year, I intend to keep my luggage lightweight. It's already a mystery why my bag increased its kilo without...

No subtitles in London

The first thing I appreciated when I arrived London is that I understood everything! Suddenly I'm smart again and could participate in conversations! No, of course I'm exaggerating. I met many people in Israel and Jordan who speaks English excellently. But it is...

The lass who wanders.

I travel the world on a quest to live a life not ordinary.

Come, wander with me!

This is my story

In the world that I wander in, one lives a fulfilling life when one follows a set path: excel as a student, secure a high-paying job, find a well to do, stable and kind partner, marry, have a million babies, and live happily ever after. For we were programmed (brainwashed?) with this narrative since childhood, it was naturally the "ever-after" I blindly sought.

However, life, with its enigmatic agenda, had other plans. Luckily, I woke up from this slumber somewhere along this journey. While my hands were never tied, my mind was shackled with unending sense of guilt and sea of inhibitions. I now understand it was my parents' way of being protective. But the moment the spell was broken, I began to see with a pair of new goggles, and I gasped for breath.

I unearthed the vastness of the world and the infinite possibilities life offers! I became different from the people around me. I’ve ignited latent passions and developed new verve for living. While part of me wishes that this revelation had come sooner, I am who I am because of who I was. I've always been a fast learner so I will catch up! This is my quest to live a life not ordinary!

It is not death that a man should fear. But he should fear never beginning to live.

– Marcus Aurelius
